Adamwa drama: Finitri emerges as Ribadu step down

Umaru Finitri
Political Sensor: It all started weeks ago when Nyako, former Adamawa state governor was impeached and his deputy resigned office I still believe everything is still a stageplay. Nuhu Ribadu, former APC presidential aspirant decamped to PDP and obtained the governorship election nomination form. Concerned Nigerians including me lamented both online on the social media and offline places of work and the likes about how ridiculous it is for this trusted man to betray our trust in him.

We all know his story but let me do a quick recap. While he was the chairman of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, he was so upright and great that he had to be sent on a course training abroad and deposed before his arrival just to curb his strict actions against our corruptible public officer. On his arrival, he contested for the post of President of Nigeria and had the support of people but lost due to low popularity and inadequate campaign so to say. We all knew him for his amazing integrity except for those who did not know him.

Nuhu Ribadu
Well, a presidential aspirant aspiring for lower post is no new thing in Nigeria. Rochas Okorocha once a presidential aspirant and now Imo state governor, Ibrahim Shekarau once a presidential candidate and now the minister of education are more than enough examples to that fact. I fear for one day that a former Nigerian president will aspire for the post of Local Government chairman. What shocked most Nigerians like me  is the fact that such a man of high integrity could follow the trend of these set of people I do not regard as politicians. The very first time I received this kind of shock was when Ibrahim Shekarau who won the 2011 presidential debate (we thought he had good visons) could go for such a post.

What is their excuse? "I have the passion to serve my people and I believe I can do that from any capacity."

I laugh at this unreasonable excuse. You had a vision which can only be achieved using the topmost office of Nigeria and you went for it. Good!. How do you expect this vision to be realized using a lower office? It is impossible! The chiefs will not dare go beyond the assignments given to them by the King. Then, how do you intend realizing your visions under a power that can subdue yours.

Smiles! I'm deviating from the topic already, quick recap turned long lol... I don mean those people teh teh. Back to Adamawa's case. The whole incidence is like a stageplay written by some political goons and having Umaru Finitri as the main actor. Nyako was impeached and his deputy resigned making the speaker an acting governor for three months max.  Our own Ribadu showed interest in the game and started playing is so professionally well. Finitri was disqualified from the primaries and everyone thought it was the end for him.

The master-player, David Mark and other goons stepped into the case and Finitri's eligibility was reinstated. Ribadu and host also stepped down. I woke up this morning, grabbed my smartphone and checked my news app just to see that Finitri has emerged PDP's gubernatorial candidate.

I just had to cut the whole story short for you to understand how the script was written and acted. But then, I thought.... this is just a PDP ish that is not the final, APC or any other party may produce the winner. Let's wait and see as the events unfold. I really can't wait for the election.
