US seizes $458m of Abacha's loot

Nigeria has never disappointed the world in its support for corruption. High level corruption was promoted by the President of the Federation when Late Gen. Sani Abacha was awarded with one of the posthumous Centenary Awards. All those awarded were believed to have contributed to Nigeria's progress in one way or the other in the last 100 years. Many Nigerians questioned this decision but we weren't heard. The award should have been retrieved.

Less than a week after President Goodluck Jonathan honoured the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, with an award for “his contributions to the nation,” the United States has ordered a freeze on $458m in assets stolen by the former dictator and his accomplices.
