You are designed for the top
Let's take a look at a star. A star has five points but only one is at the top. The fore others are below. This is because all of the points are connected to ONE centre. It's only the one that goes in a perfect vertical direction that makes it to the topmost top.
MY ADVICE TO THE YOUTHS OF THIS GENERATION - Disconnect from the usual, embrace your talent, carve a niche for yourself in your career of choice (be unique), and we shall meet at the TOP.

It is possible
Late Nelson Mandela once said: "It always seems impossible until it is done." You can't believe that it is possible until you do it. Likewise those that are around you that might even try to discourage you from doing it. Just try to build your confidence. In addition, I will like to let you know that there is a very clear and vivid difference between "Confidence" and "Overconfidence".Don't be overconfident in anything you do. Exhibit a moderate degree of confidence and the impossible will turn possible. YES, YOU CAN.

You are not obsolete
If you are reading this article, I have a good news for you. The good news is that you are NOT obsolete. For you to be reading this article, that means you are alive and well. For you to be alive and well, that means you are not obsolete. Obsolete means something that is no more in use; something that is not relevant. Do you think that since you've been failing all this while, you are not relevant to this world? Do you think that since you don't have money, you are obsolete to the entire universe? Do you think your inability to meet up with the social standards makes you obsolete?
Well, I am emphatically telling you that you are not OBSOLETE; you are not IRRELEVANT. Let's take a look at the dictionary. In the dictionary, we have some words that are marked obsolete but I don't believe they are. For a word to be listed in the dictionary, that means it can still be used which means it is not obsolete. For you to be in this world, that means you can still shine which means you are not irrelevant. For you to be alive and well, you are relevant. Tom Cruise, the veteran Hollywood actor is not the only Hollywood actor that acts the kind of role he acts. But he made himself relevant. He removed his name from the list of obsolete humans. You can also do such with these 3 SUCCESS KEYS from Taslim OKUNOLA: Discover your talent; Learn about the talent you've discovered; Practise the talent you've learnt rigorously. That's all. You can do it. YES, YOU CAN.

Tribute To NELSON MANDELA - by Taslim OKUNOLA
When I learnt about the work of Nelson Mandela, I felt calling myself a comrade is just an appellation. The world just lost the TRUE COMRADE. One of the greatest men that could ever be produced. What kind of man shakes hand with those who imprisoned him after staying behind bars for 27 years? What kind of man will put his opponents in his agenda even after they have oppressed him? The only leader that sought so much for the Children's right. The man that fought rigorously for FREEDOM. I wish all the flags in the whole wide world could fly half-mast just for you. You deserve more honour. You have actually lived a life. You gave South Africans right to stay in their fatherland peacefully. Which politician could have been better than you? Which activist could have been better than you? Which president could have been better than you? MADIBA, you lived a life. You have inspired a whole lot of people including me. YOU ARE AFRICA! You will surely be remember for a very long time. We will miss you. MAXIMUM RESPECT for you, sir!

Don't be regressive
An anonymous quote stated that: "You can't fall if you don't climb. But there's no joy in living your whole life on the ground". From this quote, it is agreed that you may lose if you invest in your careeer maybe as a starter but you can't lose if you don't invest. Moreso, it is not a good idea to remain regressive without investing. You are scared of investing in your career and at the end of the day, your colleagues in the same career excel wonderfully. What will you be like later on? like an inferior, like a LOSER. You can now see that even without losing, you 've lost. As a great mind, you must gain more knowledge about your talent, invest in it and practise it rigorously. You are meant for OUTSTANDING SUCCESS.

Don't relent
Most people tend to relent after attaining certain heights in their choice of career. When they realise that they've made more than what they expect, they slow down. I won't say names here but we are all aware that there are lots of brands and companies in Nigeria and all over the world that rose to fame sometimes ago but now defunct. Why should you relent? Do you think you can maintain the height that you are without working harder? That's a NO! Let's do some little Physics. A projectile can only reach the maximum height when thrown at an angle of 45 degrees. But do you know that even after reaching the maximum height, the object has to fall down?
It's also same with one's career. If you could project yourself at angle 45 degrees to meet the maximum height, you should have prepared a flight device with you to keep you in that maximum height throughout your lifespan. Most business crises occur because there is inadequate plan at the start of the business. You should make heavy plans before starting any business so it won't crash on the way. Plan on how you will be reinvesting the capital so that you won't lose your capital. Also plan on how you will be maximising your profit and investing part of it and insure your business to safeguard it from unforeseen events. PLANNING is the key. Build your career and business on a solid plan, stay focused, don't relent and you will enjoy every bit of it throughout.

Job and Career
From those definitions, you can see that all careers are jobs but not all jobs are careers. The type of job that I will be explaining in this context is the one that does not align with one's career. Let me give you an instance of how great minds take their job and career. Assuming, I wanna be a movie producer (my career) but I don't have the capital to start. I might go for jobs like teaching, civil service or even acting so that I can gather capital for my career (movie production). This is how it should be. No matter what happens, always remember your goal, your career, your fulfillment and work towards it.
The difference between you and your counterpart in the same career is not finances but the talent. If he/she has the money and started earlier, that doesn't mean you won't succeed in the same career if you gather your capital for 15 years. The richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote wasn't the first to start a business but he has the talent of business management and he applied that with the N500,000 capital he borrowed from his grandfather. Was he the first person to start business? Some people even started with their own money which is worth N1m but what Dangote has achieved with N500,000 loan is more than what they can ever boast of.
The story of Dangote should tell you a lot. The Nigerian motivational blogger, Taslim OKUNOLA once said: "Don't look at the present resources. Instead, always see into the future for that is where the real you lies."

Don't be sad when you don't get what you want
But certainly, that is not the end. An anonymous quote clearly stated that: "Never lose hope. You never know what tomorrow may bring". One of the Dalai Lama's of Tibetan also said: "Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck". Then, why should you feel bad? Great people don't think about the past because there is already a lot to think about in the future. Never feel sad when you don't get what you want or when you narrowly missed an opportunity because there are still lots of opportunities to explore. Feeling sad won't earn you anything but make you lose the coming opportunities. As a great mind and reader of TOB, I want you to quit thinking about lost opportunities at the very point they were lost and start hunting for coming ones while preparing for the giant future ahead of you. YES, YOU CAN.

Never fear failure
Using the previous example, he simply meant: instead of thinking that, "I'm scared, what if I fail this exam again" think that, "I really wanna pass this exam and I believe I'm gonna pass it". Even the popular TV giant, Oprah Winfrey said, "You become what you believe". Instead of fearing failure, desire for success the more and believe in yourself. If President Barack Obama was fearing that he might lose the Presidential Election in 2008 as a Black candidate, he wouldn't have contested. But he desired for success, believed in himself and his capability and worked towards the outstanding success he is still enjoying till date. You are destined for outstanding greatness, just make sure while trying to achieve the greatness, you don't fear failure. YES, YOU CAN.

What you think you can do, you can do
Do you think you can draw but don't have the courage to do so? You think you can sing but you lack courage to carry it out. These and many more are the instances of what most people suffer and later on backslide to failure. Been able to carry out your talent is what courage is all about. Whatever you think you can do, summon courage and work towards it now. Most people are living an unfulfilled life because they don't have the courage to exhibit what they think they can do.
A veteran American author, Anais Nin, once said, "Life shrinks or expand in proportion to one's courage". This means the life around you will refuse to expand to your satisfaction if you don't have the courage to work towards what you think you can do. Do you think there will be airplanes in this world if nobody thought we could fly and had the courage to work towards it? Do you think we would be able to explore outer space if nobody thought we could get to other planets and had the courage to work towards it?
Those two examples look stupid! Try to imagine a world without airplane and imagine two brothers telling the whole world that they can fly. It looks stupid, doesn't it? But when they flew the first aircraft, the idea started making sense and people developed more sophisticated airplanes later on. That is how what you think you can do looks stupid to you and even people you tell until you have the courage to carry it out and excel in it. That you did it and failed in the first attempt or even first twenty attempts doesn't mean you can't do it. Keep trying and you will be a success; even an outstanding one. You can do what you think you can do. YES, YOU CAN.

Be motivated and not intimidated
I believe once you found your way to this blog, you are in our success train and you are a great mind yourself. Some people are out there watching out for your mistakes. Once you make them, they lambaste you like they are so clean without blemish. From now on, I want you to take any negative compliment as a stepping stone to your own success. Even when you truly fail, don't look down on yourself that you cannot progress again. Don't let the failure or what people say intimidate you, use them as stepping stones to an outstanding success. DON'T FEEL INTIMIDATED, FEEL MOTIVATED by those incidences. Yes, you can.

Be prepared and be at alert!
Always be prepared. You love to draw but you have never practised drawing; then you are nothing but a novice in drawing. Your talent can only be processed into a professional career when you learn more about it and practise it. Be prepared and be at alert. Opportunities to exhibit the giant inside you won't come and meet you while you are inactive. You need to be on the lookout for them. Also, these opportunities won't foretell you before they come, so you have to be ever prepared.
An anonymous quote once stated that: "When preparation meets opportunities, destiny is born". Judging from this quote, I will say, "for you to get your destiny given birth to, be prepared and be at alert". You are talented only when you are good with the talent. The difference between a talented person and a learner is not that the talented won't learn the profession at all. The difference is that the talented person will learn faster and also be exceptional when practising it as a lifetime career. Instead of letting your talent burn, go out there, develop it and also be awakened, attentive and at alert for any coming opportunities.

The Voice Within
The post impressionist painter of Dutch origin, Vincent Willem Van Gogh once said and I quote: "If you hear a voice within you that says, 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced". Following that quote, I will now say, "If you hear a voice within you that says, 'you cannot succeed,' then by all means succeed and the voice will be silenced". Most of the times, the voice might not be from the inside of you. It might be people around you that tag you as failure. Tell them to their face that they didn't make you, so they can't predict your future. You are more than who everyone sees you to be. Awake the giant inside of you and silence all negative voices. YES, YOU CAN.

The Impact of Peer Group
I need to upload this write-up now so that most people that might likely want to think "Teamwork" and "Peer Group" are the same can be cleared. They are different. Peer Group means the group of friends, colleagues and associates you move with. An adage says, "show me your friend and I will tell you who you are". This means you are who you move with. You have to be extra careful of the kind of friends you move with. Friends can enhance your success and can also mar your destiny.
If you move with persistent smokers and you don't smoke, you are gonna be a smoker too. Birds of same feather flock together. Try to move with friends that have great vision; friends that dream of their future and act towards fulfilling the dream; friends that do nothing but motivate you and encourage you to work harder for your success. Unfriend any friend that is not adding any form of value to your life. I still consider positive friends as the most valuable asset someone can ever have. Most people tend to learn more from and listen more to their friend than their parents. This shows the impact peer groups do have on individual. Assess your friends today and try to seperate the products from the shafts. SUCCESS IS YOURS!

The Power of Teamwork
An adage also says, "united we stand, divided we fall". For you to be the best, you need a team of like minds. If you are a student you need to read collectively, so, what you don't know can be explained to you by someone who knows it in your group and also vice-versa. If you are a worker, you need a team of some closely-related workers to always work with you and help you out when there is problem."Team is a rim that drives your dream to the extreme" - Taslim OKUNOLA . The best of works are those done in teams. Teamwork is very important in all fields of life. And make sure while picking your team, it doesn't comprise of people with diverse priorities,

What is your excuse?
We are in a world where various people give excuses for their shortcomings all the time. What is your excuse for failing? You think your excuse is that you are not intelligent like the guy next door? You think your excuse is that you don't have enough financial resources to carry out your plans for the future? And you believe these excuses of yours are the reasons why you can never succeed? YOU ARE VERY MISTAKENED.
There is no successful person that has a smooth life from the start. Even the rich cry, so don't say because some are rich from the start, they have smooth lives. That does not guarantee a smooth life. All the successes had to pass through various hurdles in life. Consider your excuses as life hurdles. Strategize how you can bypass them to succeed. It is possible. The founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale once said: "I attribute my success to this: I never gave or took any excuse". Don't give excuses. Turn incidents that wanna be excuses into stepping stones to success. YES, YOU CAN

Why not you?
Why not you? Why not you in their place and them in yours? If you believe you can't perform better than them, then you can't. You need to believe in your capability. Let's access your excelling colleagues collectively: do they have two heads each? NO; do they have three hands? NO; do they have an extra brain? NOT AT ALL. Then, why can't you perform better than they do? It's simply because your priorities are different. Things you do are your priorities. Failure occurs when your priority doesn't match your personality.
Assuming, one of your colleagues watch movies always but take his time to do 2 hours reading a day and excel. You may not be able to do the same and excel because the two of you have different personalities. You might need 5 hours reading a day to excel like him and more than 5 hours to supersede him. That is why it is important that you discover yourself. Another factor is that you may not be in the career you are good at and that same career is what your colleague is good at. The solution to that is that you should change to something you can do not something everyone is doing. IT CAN BE YOU! YOU CAN DO IT!! GO FOR THE GOLD!!!

ETIQUETTE: Introduction to Etiquette
According to an English dictionary, etiquette is the forms required by good breeding, or prescribed by authority, to be observed in social or official life; observance of the proprieties of rank and occasion; conventional decorum; ceremonial code of polite society.
Etiquette is one important thing that the world of today lacks. Youths of today don't care about etiquette anymore. Lack of etiquette do give rise some antisocial behaviours amongst the youths. Etiquette is one important thing that should be given attention to because it moulds life meaningfully. Even though etiquette is always reinforced at official events, the need for individuals to have etiquette is still very important. This is because most of us spend most of our lifetime out of official arena.
Etiquette is inculcated in most cultures and religions but some people still don't care that that is that. You just see them yell in public anyhow, ask a friend for something without an atom of politeness, eat in public anyhow and so many other despicable things. The fact that you are not in your office or in some high class events doesn't mean you should drop your etiquette.
Let us all embrace etiquette for this world to be a better place to live.

Think positively
We are in a world of choices. You choose to be good or bad, holy or evil, nice or wicked, generous or selfish, successful or unsuccessful, rich or poor. Whichever one you choose is there for you. All these bi-options consist the easy and negative option and the difficult and positive option. You can decide to be poor and just sit down without working. Poverty crept in easily but being rich is a big task.
Think positively, make positive decision, act positively. What will it benefit you to earn your money in an illegitimate way? fulfilled life? excess wealth? Yea, you can gather excessive wealth illegitimately or have a fulfilled life like you think but you still can't have peace of mind coz you will be on the lookout every time in case you wanna be caught by the claws of law. You can't live a free life like you think you are living and you can't even make a good home.
It is of imminent importance that you embrace legitimacy in all you do and for you to be successful in life legitimately, you need to decide and, of course, work towards your decision. Working towards success is not an easy task at all. But I tell you that all you need to be successful is decide and work towards your decision. While doing that, you will need focus and determination which will be discussed in the next blog post.

Uniqueness
Do you even care about being unique at all? I mean being uncommon. You gat something in you that is clearly different from what is around. Your ability to exhibit this is what is called UNIQUENESS. The world has been seeing some things somewhere before and you were like lemme do the same thing, do you think they will appreciate it if you are doing it in the same dimension it's being done?
I keep telling soccer fans to stop comparing C. Ronaldo and L. Messi because their mode of playing is uniquely different from each other. Messi took the assists and goals way; Ronaldo does less of those but more of skills and exceptionality. The uniqueness in you bring the best out of you. I know you should be familiar with the adage that says, " what is worth doing is worth doing well". I will say "what is worth doing is worth doing uniquely. Do you think newspapers, magazines and media stations just ask for exclusivity from their journalists for no reason? NO! They simply don't wanna display what others have displayed before. They want UNIQUENESS.
Is Chinua Achebe the first Nigerian Professor? Is Linda Ikeji the first blogger? Is Barack Obama the first African American Presidential Candidate? Is Nelson Mandela the first activist? Is Pope Francis the first South American Catholic Head? But they all came tops coz of their UNIQUENESS. coz they were able to show the world what the world has seen before but in another dimension. coz they were able to provide exclusive ways of approaching their chosen career. I want you all to go out their and make the world know that you are UNIQUELY UNIQUE!!!

Dream and Reality
My message is to the youths, you have limited time to dream, actualizing your dream should be your priority now. Dreaming won't solve your problem coz just like data won't mean anything to a computer novice, so also will your dream not make any sense to the world. But once it turns to reality, it becomes the talk of the world. The ability to make your dream turn reality is called fulfillment. Once you are fulfilled in life, you gat everything. It is possible! You can do it!! GO FOR THE GOLD!!!

Life Architecture
You can make something out of life with the little you have. You can have the most beautiful drawing with just an HB pencil and a ruler. It's just that it will be much more tedious. You need to struggle for you to be fulfilled. Life is not all about money. My biology 102 lecturer once said he discovered that we youths of today are different from the youths of the old days coz we can do anything for money. He said we are another type of humans which should be called Homo sapiens economicus.
I think he is very right about that. I want we, youths, to stand up against immoral acts all for money. Don't do unspeakable things coz of money. Serve your fatherland with truth and honesty. May God be with us.

The Dilemna of Taraba - by Taslim OKUNOLA
On eavesdropping that the House of Assembly might impeach her husband, the wife of Governor Suntai orders that he be brought home from USA to continue running the state as the governor. But when the legislators visited Mr. Governor, they found out that he is not fully healthy to take control of the state and advise that he should be flown back to USA. The bone of contention here is Suntai supporters wants him to continue running the state with his adverse state of health.
Do they actually prefer power to his health? Or is it that they are fighting for the interest of the people of Taraba State?
Please comment with your own view on this.

Focus - the key to overcome peer pressure
The only way to overcome this dreadful pressure is through focus. FOCUS!!! Once you are able to focus on your future, distractions like peer pressure is not gonna pull you down. Focus is just the key coz once you give in to distractions like peer pressure, you will just run out of your lane and start a new race on someone else's lane. You wanna be rich like Bill Gate in just one week. Do you have an idea of how many years it took him to be what he is today? Do you have an idea of what he went through?
Youths, please, let's stay focused.. watching another person's achievement won't take you anywhere. Strive to achieve yours in your own way. When an athlete crosses lanes, he/she is disqualified. Life is a race, run yours on your own lane with your own intellect.

Change!
I've been forced to conclude that the change we are seeking for can never come to pass. With everybody dodging responsibilities, we cannot reach anywhere. Even the youths of today are not ready to work as future leaders. I have some friends that their aim is to reach the top and cut their share of the national cake as they call it. If youths are thinking in that direction, then what change are you hoping for?
Change is inevitable. That's true if the target populace is small. That's why the little change we are experiencing in Nigeria is at the state level. Each state is involved with various developmental activities. We need to really sit tight and start from the scratch.
This is to our leaders, change is possible with unity. Start from the ward level to the local government level to the state and the federal level gradually. It's a gradual process and not something that can be done with haste. Let's join hands for a better NIGERIA, a better AFRICA and a better WORLD.

The highest degree of success is attainable
Life is all about discovering yourself and try not to live your life other people's way. It's destructive. Cos your dad is a successful medical doctor doesn't mean you will be successful if you become a medical doctor. That your dad is a good singer doesn't mean singing is your talent. You need to discover yourself and try to know what works really well for you.
After discovering your talent and skill, you need to implement your brain's ability to carry out a great plan. Being in a future without plan is complete waste of time. You need to plan cos tommorrow is still gonna turn today. You are not the only one with such talent, so, you have to plan on how you wanna be different from the rest and yet bring out the best.
After planning, what next? Money#! Sort for capital, sort for resources, sort for money. It's very essential. Maybe you will have to work off-talent for some years to gather money. Cos without money, talent is nothing!
Let's try as much as possible to work towards our goal in life. Living a fulfilled life is one of the best things that could ever happen to man.

Good stories should not be interrupted...
A lot of youths that are meant for greatness interrupt it by doing unnecessary things. They build up characters that are harmful to their future. How can a cultist dream of a good future? It's not possible because the good dream is being interrupted.
You can't dream of a being a medical doctor if all you do is play video games with friends the whole day. Even a lackey doesn't have an interrupted success if he can dream big and work very hard towards it.
All we need as youths is full concentration on our success path to avoid an interrupted sucess.

The Free Life
It's been long I posted last, I'm sorry about that. I was just trying to put sone things in place.
This blog post is essentially for the youths that wants a free life for themselves. All they ask for is a life free from parents' interference, a life free from elders' advice, a life free from religious stuff. Is that life really free? Most youths abscond from their parents at 18 coz of this so-called free life and many others live double life.
This is not real for crying out loud. The kind of life has costed most youths their future. Most youths are goal-less and don't think about their bright future. I watched a
documentary on Africa Magic where a good number of youths are asked to define the future. ALL of them could not provide the answer. They were just stammering.
This is because most of the youths don't think about the future as it is. All they want is fake life, the one that is free to them. It's time we, youths, stand up against bad future. Live a meaningful life and you will be glad you did.

Hope and Patience

Its very right because its stressing the essence of patience which is very enormous. Its good to be patient because impatience spoil things. You don't know if the next minute is your time to shine. A popular saying states, "the darkest hour is just before dawn" WAIT FOR GOD'S TIME... IT'S SIMPLY THE BEST"

ASUU
Universities (ASUU) - a great labour union. When I was small, whenever I hear ASUU, I think its University strike coming up again. It got to a point that I think the meaning/synonym of ASUU i strike. It was so obvious that whenever ASUU appears in the newspaper, it means the beginning of strike. And my elder ones will have to stay at home for months! I really hate ASUU then because the strike stuff is kind of ridiculous.
But later on I got to understand the meaning of ASUU and what it stands for. I got to know that the only language that the Nigerian Government understand is STRIKE. And I really think this is not supposed to be so. I believe its a thing that can always be settled via negotiation if the two parties agreed but the government will never give in until the strike happens. And this strike of a thing is really affecting the educational system of Nigerian Universities. I want to advise th Federal Government to make decisions very fast to save the studies of Nigerian Students. What you will still do after strike can be done without any strike.

Happy Fathers' Day
To my father, you are just the special one sent for me. I really enjoyed my stay with you. The laughters, the cries, the good health, the sickness period, the time of suffering, the time of sufficiency. You worked so hard to get me to the height I am and you are still planning to move me more by the grace of God. I love you so much. Thank you for been there for me everytime. Happy Fathers' Day, sir!

Examination - the true test
The particular question is, "what is the true test if examination is not?". At least, people still manage to pass even with the tension. But imagine a promotion without examination. Is it worth it? I will take promotion without examination as reaping without sowing. I think instead of complaining that examination is not a true test, lets learn to fight tension and exam phobia. Its possible! We can!

Human Relationship - friendship as a case study
Human relationship is a broad topic that has many branches like business relationship, friendship, love, marital relationship and so on. I will be talking more on friendship. The key word in friendship is understanding! Once both parties have a good understanding of each other, it will be smooth without any flaw. This is what is called good human relations. Understanding can only be said to be present between two persons if and only if each of them knows what the other like and dislike. And tried to cope without doing what the other person dislikes. This is called mutual understanding. A very important aspect of friendship.
To build a good friendship with someone you don't know before, you need to be extra careful because you don't know what the person likes or dislikes yet. And that means, the probability that you offend the person so soon is very high. So, extra carefulness is the key. Just do things with respect and courtesy. With this, you can easily build a good friendship and a lasting one tho.

Time Management
The efficient management of time is very tedious because efficient planning cannot guarantee efficient reaction. For instance, if someone drew a study timetable to manage his study time and eventually found out that he is tired when he still have to read one more course. He might sleep and not attend to that course properly. This means yielding to the plan is abortive and that makes the whole plan useless.
I will advise us to try and see into the efficient management of our time because that is the key to great success..

Quarrel or Squabble
Most of the times, I feel bad at one period or the other when quarreling with someone I need a giant help from. I will be like; should I apologise and be helped or exercise my ego and not be helped? Most of the times, the answer that comes from the mind is: give yourself some self respect, don't apologise. And at the end of the day, one end of losing a great opportunity.
I believe we can live a life without quarrels, lets work towards that and feel the free world around us. Help will come from the appropriate places and we will have a complete peace of mind.

Nigeria O' Nigeria - by Dangulbi
I woke up very early in the morning to the sound of classical music. I casually strolled into the bathroom. Oh! the cold is too much this morning, i turned on the hot-water tap. While towelling myself dry, i turned on the radio and heard the presenter speaking of how Nigeria is now one of the most developed countries in the world and how the Nigerian president yesterday declared his asset and all he had to boast of was N20 million naira and a duplex in his village.
I finished dressing up and took my time to eat. I had no reason to rush, afterall the road is always free and there are no potholes.
On the way, i saw a few policemen patrolling and I greeted them. I stopped to chat with them for a few minutes after which i drove off laughing.
In my workplace, i saw some people loitering in the waiting room and discovered they were here to be interviewed. I saw the son of the permanent secretary. I also saw a young man with tattered shoes and patched-up trouser; he graduated recently from one of the government universities, but everyone could testify to the fact that he's brilliant.
While going home that day, i saw the man with the tattered shoes smiling and i asked him why. "Sir, i've been given the job." "What! What of the Permanent secretary's son, didn't his father call beforehand?" "No" the man said, "He didn't"
That evening, i went out to play in the neighborhood, i saw Adamu and Obinna discussing the recent trend in the country, of how Mallam Danjuma is now the governor of Rivers state, Senator Abifarin Oluwafemi is now the governor in Borno state, Mr Chijioke Godffrey is now the governor of Oyo state.
I decided that since i had a lot of time on my hands, i should make a quick stop in the hospital to make a few checkups. I went to the Cancer treatment Hospital, after making sure i was cancer-free, i visited the HIV/AIDS Checkup Centre and I was well attended to with world-class equipments, i even saw the mother of the vice-president there.
From there, i saw Hope of Salvation Church and Egbe Alasalatu Islamic house holding a joint prayer for continuous peace in the community. I saw the pastor and Imam consulting on the prayer points. I stayed for a few minutes and then left.
The next morning, i tried to make some calls, but i couldn't find my phone. I took my wife's phone and saw tons of messages sent from my phone asking me to call back, that my phone was found on the road. I hurriedly called my phone back and got a man on the line. He told me he had been calling my wife's number since yesterday night but that she wasn't picking her calls. I apologized and told him that she put her phone in silent to avoid disturbances while sleeping. I went to reclaim my phone, i thanked the man and offered him a few naira, but he rejected it saying, i shouldn't worry.
Since it was election time, i went to the polling booth nearest to me to carry out my constitutional duties. I saw only people of voting age there, everywhere was peaceful and the security agents there were merely putting up appearances as they were just chatting with the voters. I voted for the candidate of my choice and left. The next morning, i heard that the election results were out and that the runners-up and winner were having lunch together. I turned on my T.V set and saw for myself, in fact, they weren't just eating, a healthy conversation was going on. The winner of the presidential election asked the runners-up to advice him as to how to effectively run the country and they all sat together to discuss on how to sustain the massive success the country has been witnessing.
The next day, the foreign media said that the American president has laid some rules down for Nigeria to follow, failure to do that will amount to severing of diplomatic ties. The Nigerian president replied 30 minutes after, he told the American president to go to hell and that he won't allow his country to be ruled by foreign and anti-masses policies.
I remembered that i hadn't completed my weekly hours of work mandatory for all Nigerians, i got there and saw the president dusting his trouser, he had just finished cutting the grass where he was assigned to work. I greeted him and he told me that he's expecting month end, that his monthly allowance had nearly finished, since he was also collecting the minimum wage being paid to the workers.
"Huum..." I woke up with a jolt slapping my ears, these mosquitoes again. So I have been dreaming. I was sweating profusely, there's no light. I stood up to take my bath, no water. I turned on my transistor radio, i heard them saying Boko haram has started again, and that robbers have killed 13 people. Oh God!
The Concept of Friendship
That means you can be the best friend maker but do you think you can keep as much as you are making? Being a friend keeper is the most tasking thing. Is it a gift or something u can get trained for? Thats what I don't understand. All is well anyway.

Religious conflicts in the world - Nigeria as a case study
I, as a person, I'm a Muslim and Christians don't normally know because whenever Christ preachers visit me, I treat them with modesty, listen to whatever they wanna say. I won't say anything even if they are talking about the fact that their religion is better than Islam. that doesn't make me desist from my Salaat or deprive me from being a muslim. Please, let's get wise and desist from causing religious conflicts. The change begins with YOU and I.
I still remain my humble self, my name is Taslim, I am a Muslim and I'm not a terrorist.

The Concept of Life
The World as one big family!
With those things present, I don't think the world can come to a solid agreement... even with all the UN treaties signed by various countries, some citizens still don't practise unity. Let's take the whole world as a big family. No discrimination, No threat, No immoral act against each other.
The change begins with you! Act fast!

What a congress!
It was like a coup planned and they were sure they will win until the Governor of the 100L brought the 100L students to support the president. The largest number of congressmen present in the congress of NAAS was recorded with 75 comrades in attendance and the 100L were well represented.
Although, our president was told to carry on after the results of the voting favoured him but I don't think they are through with him. ALL IS WELL.
