The limit just can't move - by Taslim OKUNOLA

He came with joy to the grove;
a place where his kinds live.
He has to demarcate a place of rest even without a roof;
just for him to be comfortable without any grief.

He explained to them how young he was,
they smiled and told him it was nothing.
He also thought it was but wanted to avoid wars;
now he just had to live without the fear of anything.

He started mingling with great minds;
at some stages, he felt like an adult;
and he always have the feeling that he is with his kinds;
he continued his quest to end his knowledge drought.

As at the time he was in his hood enjoying the groove;
It came upon him just like a rude shock;
what he knew about but thought would move;
it seems it is attached to them like a ship's dock.

He really thought he could effect a change;
but with due process, it cannot be so quick;
he started viewing possibilities with range;
but his thoughts fell on him just like  a brick.

They told him not to worry that age is just a number;
but he wish he could just scrap the proof;
oh! ages cannot be manipulated even by a bomber;
THE LIMIT JUST CAN'T MOVE.

Success don't come easy

It's another Sunday today; Motivation Day of the week for TOB readers. Last week Sunday, we announced that we will be porting to www.deewhy4ril.com and thank God, we already bought the domain and the design of the blog has also been upgraded.

Last year I posted an article about "not relenting". Success is not an achievement that comes so easy. When people see any form of difficulty in their choice of career, they tend to quit saying the job is probably not meant for them. A popular acronym says, "Winners never quit and quitters never win". Then, why do you want to back off when you have not reached your destination. Success is not achieved easily. For you to be fulfilled, you must pass through various tribulation. It is only when you allow these tribulations to weigh you down that you arrive at failure. But if you use these tribulations that arise as stepping stones, then, the sky is your starting point not even limit.

Let me narrate a popular story. A baby donkey got stuck inside a deep well. When the owner of the donkey saw this, he knew there was no hope of bringing him out. He decided to bury him alive then. He started shoveling sand into the well to bury the donkey but to his utmost surprise, the baby donkey was using the sand as step until he reached the top. Every difficulty in your life can be changed to a blessing in disguise only if you are patience and can figure out the opportunities. Your ability to turn your tribulations to stepping stones define your succedd. KEEP ON ROCKING!!

Be Your Own Boss - by Taslim OKUNOLA

Unemployment is a phenomenon that affects most of the youths today. Even the intellectual ones that wants to exhibit the genius in them don't get the avenue (job) to do so. I have come to notice that even most of those that get the available jobs are the unfit but were recognized for the job because of their "connections". Children of the rich and influential get their appointment letter in maximum comfort probably while holidaying abroad while the children of the "common" people get to write so many application letters and attend lots of interviews in search for a good job. At a end of the day, they get nothing but a job that will pay them pennies as salary.

Well, most people discuss about the problems of this unemployment and so many other things that are not relevant to Job Creation. They keep blaming the government for everything. Although, I am very much aware that the government is to be blamed but blaming them will only aggravate our problems. How? It will keep us busy and would not let us focus on how we can adapt to the situation created by carving a niche for ourselves in the economy world. We could riot from today till the end of the year, the job that will be created by the government will never cater for all of us. The last set of "problematic" job interviews that was conducted in Nigeria by the Nigerian Immigration Service recorded about 520,000 unemployed applicants for 4,556 slots. Tell me, if the whole of Nigeria decide to protest so that the government will create more job, can 520,000 jobs be created at a go just like that? NO!

We really need to awaken the boss in us. We need to completely remove mindset 1 that: "a job is somewhere for me, I will keep searching without relenting". We need to change our mindset to mindset 2: "there is no job any where. if I want to work, I must be my own boss". Do you know what you can achieve with mindset 1? You will keep searching, wasting lots of money you could have invest and even if you see one at the end of the day, YOU ARE A WORKER. Do you know what you can achieve with mindset 2? You will strive to gather capital for an idea you created and have sought the advice of your trustees on. You start on a small scale and when your business turns large scale in the future, you create more jobs for the coming generation. And guess what? YOU ARE THE BOSS!!! You can achieve the unachievable. YES, YOU CAN!

Unemployment

In today’s life unemployment has become a serious problem all around the globe . It is such a poison that pollutes the society, endangers the democratic fabric of the country. An unemployed person has no sense of self-respect as he has no sense of security. As far as I know the future of a country depends on the ability and the mental attitudes of its young men and women and If the concerned authority let its young people to be gripped by insecurity and frustration then it is for sure that such a country will have to pay for modernization and rapid advancement with several years of stagnation in my opinion. The student who is unable to secure job, passes on from one academic degree to another get frustrated . At the end of the process, the student very soon realize that he/she is not a first-class intellectual as a result he/she likes to commit suicide. So today let us discuss as what are the adverse effects of the unemployment on the society and how to handle this problem?

Success is not generic

This is another motivational Sunday and we are glad to announce that TOB will soon move to www.deewhy4ril.com

Okay, some people believe that they cannot succeed because they are from a particular clan; a particular tribe; a particular state and the success history of such category of people they came from is so low. Some girls believe they can never succeed because they are females. It happens everywhere. Someone that believes he/she cannot succeed coz of one reason or the other is only giving excuses for his/her failure. Because of these flimsy excuses, these set of people don't work towards being successful at all. They believe no matter how hard they try, the criteria is still there. I wanna tell you one thing: success is not generic neither is it gender-based.

THERE IS NO CATEGORY OF PEOPLE, NO MATTER HOW BAD THEIR SUCCESS HISTORY IS, THAT LACKS AT LEAST ONE SUCCESSFUL PERSON!

Why can't you just be like that successful person they have? You think coz the percentage of failure is high, you have no choice than to fail? You are wrong. Success don't work with probability, it works with personality. You determine your success, histories don't. If you refuse to work towards your success, you are the cause not the bad history. You really can make a change. Histories take turns only on people that are ready to break the records and effect the change. Get ready for your success story. IT BEGINS WITH YOU!

"I'm dedicated to the Transformation Agenda of Mr. President" - Stella Oduah

Ms. Stella Oduah, the controversial Minister of Aviation that was sacked recently by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan still remains dedicated and loyal to Mr. President. What they have in secret; we don't know. You could all recollect that even with the enormous outcry of Nigerians that she should be sacked for the gross misconduct she was involved in, she wasn't sacked.

It was after everything died down that Mr. President deemed it fit to show her the way out of his cabinet. This former minister is still the same woman that went to her twitter account (the one she acquired after her cabinet call) and stated in her bio that she is still dedicated to the transformation agenda of Mr. President. Meaning she is ready for any national call for service under the Jonathanian administration.

Do you think President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan can still call her up for any form of national service?

Avoid being raped by your boyfriends

To all the ladies, avoid being raped by your boyfriends ooo. The Nigeria Police on Tuesday raised the alarm over the increasing reported cases of rape and warned ladies against falling prey to the gimmicks of their male companions.

The police said they had uncovered the tactics prospective rapists use to snare their victims.

They added that the criminal act was one of the fastest growing crimes globally, hence the need to educate Nigerians on the menace, with a view to making them stay out of trouble.

He who have ears should hear what the spirit is saying to the church oooo.

Nollywood - Gollywood football match

I found this interesting and very funny news story on a blog, Mills Music Ent. The Nollywood team comprised; Comic actors, Charles Inojie, Victor Osuagwu, Toyin Aimakhu, Segun Arinze, Grace Amah and AGN president, Ibinabo Fibersima.

They were beaten 3-1 by the Ghanaian actors in the fun-filled game.

Ghana opened scores in the first 20 minutes of the match and scored another in the second half. Toyin dislocated her knee cap while doing justice to a penalty kick that she missed.

Nigerian Youths Arise - by Ifeanyi KOH

Whoever says we're too young to lead is either an ignorant fellow or a forgetful individual. Check these out...

"Obafemi Awolowo (37), Ladoke Akintola (36), Ahmadu Bello (36), Tafawa Balewa (34) and Okotie-Eboh (27), Enahoro (27) led the struggle for independence after the death of Macaulay. Only Nnamdi Azikwe was 42 at the time...

In 1966, the first coup was led by: Kaduna Nzeogwu (29) and countered by Murtala Mohammed (28), Theophilus Danjuma (28), Ibrahim Babangida (25), Nanven Garba (23), Sani Abacha (23), Shehu Musa Yaradua (23), and brought into power Yakubu Gowon (32), Odimegwu Ojukwu (33), Olusegun Obasanjo (29), Muhammadu Buhari (24).

Most of the military
administrators who governed the states under the successive military regimes, most of whom are governors now, were under 30 years.

The brief democratic dispensation which interjected the military interregnums also saw the House of Representatives in particular populated by majority of members under 30 years as well as some senators.

Under 30s were also not in short supply with appointments, we have examples of MT Mbu who became foreign affairs minister at 23 and Pat Utomi who became a presidential adviser at 27 et cetera."

It's high time we Nigerian youths stand up, take our place and fix our great nation.

Presidential drama: President Jonathan’s N9bn jet refuses to fly

Okay, I woke up this morning to read my Punch Mobile and what did I see amidst the top stories? this! I couldn't just helped but to laugh. Well, I didn't wanna post it on my blog before but I also saw it again on Linda Ikeji's Blog while I was visiting the latter. About two weeks ago, I posted an article on this blog stating the 10 Presidential Jets in the Presidential Aircraft Fleet as financial recklessness. Well, little did I know that all the jets they were using our money to maintain are "tokunbohs". One of them revealed what it was truly made of to Mr. President in Minna. God saved him. Assuming the flight has started working before it failed, those at the top will also feel the intensity of plane crash. I remembered when Dana used its economics to damage many lives. They couldn't maintain their aircraft well, it crashed, they were suspended for a while. After the wailing of Nigerians went down, they settled necessary agencies and their license was returned.

This jet bought for 9 billion naira (N9,000,000,000) refused to start at Minna Airport, Niger State and the President was a bit stranded sha. CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL STORY!

Keep Moving!!!

You've tried all possible means to reach your goals; you've tried all possible means to be successful; you've tried all possible means to triumph and all the possible means are not working out. You feel like stopping because you are fed up. Don't Stop! Keep Moving! Don't you notice that even those that are already successful wants to move higher? They don't stop at being just successful, they want to be extraordinarily successful. You also have to strive without stopping. When you stop, you become a stagnant water that lots of dirt make use of. You will become idle and possibly be used for antisocial activities. You will become more desperate. You have to be like a moving river that wards off dirt instead.

All you need to answer is a question: "do you love what you are doing?". If you do, then keep doing it with different methods. Francis Bacon once said: " If we are to achieve results never before achieved, we must expect to employ methods never before attempted". And if you don't, switch to what you love doing. Steve Jobs once said: "The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, Keep looking. Don't settle." So, why do you want to stop when you can employ different methods or keep looking for what you love? Why do you want to stop when you can achieve results and do great work if you keep moving? Don't ever buy the idea of stopping! Don't ever be fed up with life!! KEEP MOVING AND WE WILL SURELY SEE AT THE TOP!!!

Presidency defends the Centenary Award given to Abacha

Abacha was honoured during the nation’s centenary award last Friday under the category of “outstanding promoters of unity, patriotism and national development.”

Funny enough, Reuben Abati who was recently assigned with the duty of defending the award given to Abacha has been rough-handled by Abacha's government before. The time he was working with The Guardian that the newspapers had to be printed in an undisclosed location and smuggled into Garri trucks to ensure its circulation.

Well, it seems he has a forgiven spirit like Nelson Mandela or a good servant spirit like the saints that does whatever God orders. He has bluntly carried out Mr. President's order by defending the Centenary Award given to Late Sani Abacha. According to him, he emphasized that Abacha contributed to the unity of Nigeria. Well the award category speaks more than unity: “outstanding promoters of unity, patriotism and national development.”

Let me not finish this interesting gist coz I will just keep laughing ni. CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL NEWS STORY FROM PUNCH NIGERIA

US seizes $458m of Abacha's loot

Nigeria has never disappointed the world in its support for corruption. High level corruption was promoted by the President of the Federation when Late Gen. Sani Abacha was awarded with one of the posthumous Centenary Awards. All those awarded were believed to have contributed to Nigeria's progress in one way or the other in the last 100 years. Many Nigerians questioned this decision but we weren't heard. The award should have been retrieved.

Less than a week after President Goodluck Jonathan honoured the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, with an award for “his contributions to the nation,” the United States has ordered a freeze on $458m in assets stolen by the former dictator and his accomplices.

Tweet Fight between Linda Ikeji, Omojuwa and others

I just stumbled on a Facebook post of a friend talking about this subject matter. Tweet fight is actually the most interesting celebrities fight coz you get to see everything life and direct. I clicked on the link and I read the whole story. Tweeps are accusing Linda Ikeji of being biased on the story of Reno Omokri's Wendell Smilin scandal.

Some Nigerians supported the claim while some said bloggers were just being jealous of Linda's success. Linda who also went ahead to boast about how enormous her fortune is already and the source was replied by Omojuwa who insisted he didn't say she collected money from Reno but they gat something.

Success is not hereditary

Some youths think they could inherit success/failure from their parents. They keep on saying they are sure they will succeed coz their parents did. Some even do that to the extent that they will become lazy and wait to inherit their parents' wealth. I believe the inheritance every child deserve is the upbringing and training given to him. He/She should be able to implement those to yield success in the future. If you think your dad is successful and you don't need to work, you are wrong. That only works for 1 out of 50 people that thinks that way. You can be among the 49.

In essence, what I am saying is that the fact that your dad is a success doesn't make you a success and the fact that your dad is a failure doesn't make you a failure. Your story doesn't rely on anyone's story coz you are the author of your story, the architect of your life. Whatever you write is what the world read. Don't rely on your parents' vast wealth coz you can do better if you work towards yours. YES, YOU CAN.
