The 2014 edition of the Mobile World Congress is more than exceptional with it making headlines times without number. During the 2014 MWC, Nokia launches its first ever Android devices. Nokia X, X+ and XL are the spectacular species of Android smartphones that will probably rule the mobile market months to come.
Abacha was honoured during the nation’s centenary award last Friday under the category of “outstanding promoters of unity, patriotism and national development.”
Funny enough, Reuben Abati who was recently assigned with the duty of defending the award given to Abacha has been rough-handled by Abacha's government before. The time he was working with The Guardian that the newspapers had to be printed in an undisclosed location and smuggled into Garri trucks to ensure its circulation.
Well, it seems he has a forgiven spirit like Nelson Mandela or a good servant spirit like the saints that does whatever God orders. He has bluntly carried out Mr. President's order by defending the Centenary Award given to Late Sani Abacha. According to him, he emphasized that Abacha contributed to the unity of Nigeria. Well the award category speaks more than unity: “outstanding promoters of unity, patriotism and national development.”

Nigeria has never disappointed the world in its support for corruption. High level corruption was promoted by the President of the Federation when Late Gen. Sani Abacha was awarded with one of the posthumous Centenary Awards. All those awarded were believed to have contributed to Nigeria's progress in one way or the other in the last 100 years. Many Nigerians questioned this decision but we weren't heard. The award should have been retrieved.
Less than a week after President Goodluck Jonathan honoured the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, with an award for “his contributions to the nation,” the United States has ordered a freeze on $458m in assets stolen by the former dictator and his accomplices.
I just stumbled on a Facebook post of a friend talking about this subject matter. Tweet fight is actually the most interesting celebrities fight coz you get to see everything life and direct. I clicked on the link and I read the whole story. Tweeps are accusing Linda Ikeji of being biased on the story of Reno Omokri's Wendell Smilin scandal.
Some Nigerians supported the claim while some said bloggers were just being jealous of Linda's success. Linda who also went ahead to boast about how enormous her fortune is already and the source was replied by Omojuwa who insisted he didn't say she collected money from Reno but they gat something.
Some youths think they could inherit success/failure from their parents. They keep on saying they are sure they will succeed coz their parents did. Some even do that to the extent that they will become lazy and wait to inherit their parents' wealth. I believe the inheritance every child deserve is the upbringing and training given to him. He/She should be able to implement those to yield success in the future. If you think your dad is successful and you don't need to work, you are wrong. That only works for 1 out of 50 people that thinks that way. You can be among the 49.
In essence, what I am saying is that the fact that your dad is a success doesn't make you a success and the fact that your dad is a failure doesn't make you a failure. Your story doesn't rely on anyone's story coz you are the author of your story, the architect of your life. Whatever you write is what the world read. Don't rely on your parents' vast wealth coz you can do better if you work towards yours. YES, YOU CAN.
